Sciton Halo™ and Forever Young Broadband Laser
Healthy skin makes a world of difference. Your best features shine their brightest when your skin glows. Though a flawless at-home skincare regimen goes a long way toward maintaining youthful skin, topical creams can only penetrate the first few layers of skin.
To address skin concerns caused by deeper damage like UV exposure, chronic acne, collagen loss, and other conditions–you’ll need a bit of help. That’s where Dr. Parkins and her team come in.
If you’re hoping to reduce the visible signs of aging, improve overall skin tone and tightness, and address wrinkles and fine lines, a medical-grade skincare procedure could be the answer. At our clinic in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, Dr. Maida Parkins, and our team of experts provide several different options for achieving a radiant, youthful glow.
One of our most popular and powerful options for comprehensive skin rejuvenation is the Sciton laser. Capable of addressing several concerns, this groundbreaking technology allows us to provide patients with the acclaimed HALO and Forever Young BBL treatments in the Madison and Milwaukee areas.
What is the Halo™ Laser?
The world’s first and only hybrid fractional laser, Halo™, works by delivering both non-ablative and ablative wavelengths to a single treatment zone. With an incredible degree of customization and precision, Halo™’s exceptional results have become a favorite of men and women around the globe.
By combining wavelengths, our team can provide patients a synergy of ablative results with the downtime of a non-ablative procedure. Halo™ is a truly rejuvenating treatment with the power to improve skin texture and tone, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, address hyperpigmentation, and pore size.
Minimal downtime is a significant benefit of this groundbreaking treatment. After just five to seven days, your skin will be back to normal, radiating the signature Halo™ glow.
Halo™ is so precise that our team of experts can customize your recovery time to fit any scheduling or availability restrictions. You can choose between several minimal treatments spaced out over time, or a more intense treatment that will achieve maximum results in a single visit.
Results are long-lasting, generally for at least two years. If you’re seeking a non-surgical way to gently and quickly achieve the same results as a much more aggressive procedure, Halo™ could be right for you.
The Ideal Halo™ Laser Candidate
If you’re a man or woman hoping to improve your skin’s appearance, decrease the size of pores, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, improve skin texture, and treat uneven skin tone–the Halo™ Laser can help you achieve excellent results.
The best way to find out if you qualify for a Halo™ Laser treatment is to schedule an in-person consultation with Dr. Parkins’ team of experts. We will review your medical history and take your aesthetic goals into account to determine whether the Halo™ Laser is the best skin rejuvenation choice for you.

Forever Young BBL
When it comes to stopping the clock on visible signs of aging skin, there are few options as efficient and successful as a Forever Young BBL. Using the Sciton laser, Dr. Parkins’ team can boost your body’s natural ability to reverse and fight against aging by sending light energy deep into the skin. You’ll see visibly younger-looking skin, year after year.
BBL treatments also work wonders addressing skin redness caused by broken capillaries or stubborn hyperpigmentation. If you’re suffering from melasma, BBL treatments provide significant benefits alongside an at-home hydroquinone and retinol regimen. If you’re suffering from active acne, Dr. Parkins’ team can also utilize BBL’s blue light setting to kill built-up bacteria in the skin.
For best results, we recommend a series of three to four BBL treatments spaced four weeks apart.
After this initial series of treatments, we can help you to set up a maintenance regimen. From then on, scheduling a BBL treatment every six months following your first treatment regimen will help maintain your results indefinitely.
The Science Behind the Forever Young BBL
The Forever Young BBL marks a significant leap forward in anti-aging treatments. It’s the only device that’s been clinically shown to alter the expression of genes associated with longevity, aging, and lifespan.
Regular Forever Young BBL treatments will smooth, clear, and refine the appearance of your skin. Using the power of phototherapy, non-invasive pulses of BroadBand Light (BBL) allow Dr. Parkins’ team to target the signs of sun damage, and aging with pinpoint accuracy.
What Is BroadBand Light Therapy?
BroadBand Light therapy (BBL), sometimes known as Intense Pulsed Light therapy or a photo facial, utilizes high-intensity light energy delivered in short pulses to provide younger-looking skin. With minimal downtime, BBL represents a safe, FDA-cleared option for anti-aging, treating sun damage, and overall skin rejuvenation.
BBL treatments are non-invasive, and, when working with an expert technician, gentle and safe. Most of our patients feel no need for a topical anesthetic. Some people feel a momentary heat-like pinch in the target areas. We’ll provide safety shields to protect your eyes.
Treatments take between 15 minutes to an hour, depending on your desired results and the size of the treatment area. Most patients can return to work or other regular activities immediately following the procedure.
Most patients experience a slight sensitivity, redness, and irritation similar to a minor sunburn following treatment. Depending on your treatment specifics, it’s also possible to have some swelling for one or two days. Pigmentation may appear slightly darker for seven to ten days before beginning to flake off.
Amazing. I never doubted that I had an experienced doctor. I loved everyone. Recovery was exactly like she said. I have never regretted the decision for one minute. I went from a fake 36C to a “real” 36DD. Over muscle. Everyone says they don’t even look fake. They feel awesome. I would do anything with Dr. Parkins.
My experience with Dr. Parkins and her staff could not have been better! Not only were my results better than I could have ever imagined, the staff was AMAZING!!! I would recommend them to anyone looking to have these services done. Such a fantastic experience from start to finish and even now, months after!

They make you feel like you are thier only patient and they really really pay attention to your concerns. I will and have recommended her to other people she is all the staff is really great.
Dr. Parkins and her staff are amazing. From the begin of my journey to the end all of my questions were answered. The surgery and procedure went great with no complications. I followed the Doctor’s orders, the pain was minimum and the results are far more then my expectations. Never in my wildest dreams would I ever be wearing a bikini again and I did this past summer. I would highly recommend Dr. Parkins and her office for any procedures. I will definitely be seeing her again in the future.
I enjoyed every part of my surgery experience. The staff was friendly, Dr. Parkins was very professional and she made sure I was satisfied with my decision. I had help at very point along the way and I would definitely go back to Dr. Parkins in the future.
Professional, compassionate and dedicated care in and out of the operation room. Excellent results and amazing pre/post operations treatment. Will recommend to everyone whom will like to improve their looks and get a huge self-esteem booster.
The only side effects associated with the Halo™ laser treatment are swelling and redness. Sleeping on your side or flat on your stomach can cause further irritation immediately following treatment. Elevating your head as much as possible will relieve swelling. If you face any discomfort, ibuprofen, Benadryl, and ice can all relieve symptoms.
It’s important to note that though swelling is a side effect, it will not affect Halo™’s positive results. If you experience excess swelling, we can prescribe you a steroid. We’ll discuss all possible risks with you during your consultation and only recommend treatment if you are an ideal candidate.
One of Halo™’s biggest draws is its versatility of treatment plans. You can choose, however, as many Halo™ treatments as you want. Once we have an understanding of your goals and availability, we’ll help you select between one or two more intense treatments or several, spaced out lower-level treatments to achieve similar results.
One of our expert team members will apply a topical anesthetic to the treatment area thirty minutes to an hour before your session to reduce any discomfort. You should expect to feel a slight tingling sensation and heat. From then, you’ll sit back while we use motion-tracking technology to apply your Halo™ treatment evenly.
Halo™ results last for several years. If you maintain your skincare regimen, you can see benefits for even longer. It’s most critical to avoid sun exposure and wear a 30+ SPF sunscreen daily.
If you want to improve your results further, we can schedule additional BBL™ (Broadband Light) therapy and Halo™ treatments.
Each patient’s BBL treatment timeline is unique to them depending on several factors, including the number of treatments, degree of skin damage, and desired outcomes. Generally, our patients tend to choose four treatments per year (one every three months).
