Raise Sagging Breasts to a Perkier Position with Help from the Milwaukee and Madison Area’s Dr. Maida Parkins

Our skin does more than just cover our body. It also serves as a support structure to hold up certain features, such as the breasts. Youthful skin does this job well, but skin thins, weakens, and loses its resilience as it ages. Weight fluctuations and pregnancy/breastfeeding add to the problem by stretching out skin that is less and less able to “bounce back.” A breast lift at the Milwaukee area’s Parkins Plastic Surgery can address this problem by getting rid of the excess skin to create a support structure that holds the breasts higher on the chest.

Breast lift surgery can also help breasts that point downward toward the belly point forward again. No matter the details, the ultimate goal of every lift is to create perkier breasts that appear symmetrical and natural. Dr. Maida Parkins draws on her years of experience with breast-focused plastic surgery to apply techniques that produce customized results for every patient. Her aim is to meet each woman’s aesthetic needs while maximizing safety and comfort.

Personalized Breast Lift Consultations for Milwaukee and Madison

Dr. Parkins offers the benefit of a female perspective for breast lifts. She knows exactly what her patients are going through, as well as the breast appearance issues that make it difficult for them to feel confident in their body. She and her team provide compassionate patient consultations, helping you to feel confident in your choice.

During breast lift treatment planning, Dr. Parkins provides a physical examination to determine the amount of skin laxity and the ideal way to raise the breast tissue. Understanding your BMI before your consultation will help determine your eligibility for surgery.

We make every effort to ensure you are comfortable and have all the information you need to enjoy a positive breast lift experience.

Can Breast Lift Surgery Be Paired with a Volume-Boosting Procedure?

Breast lifts are ideal for patients with loose skin that is causing breasts to droop. These patients also likely have a nipple position that falls below the natural breast crease. Enlarged nipple size, flat breast shape, and sagging breast position are all improved with a breast lift.

A lift does not address breast volume and projection. If you’re looking to increase volume, provide more shape, or increase projection in addition to lifting, then a combined breast lift and breast augmentation provide an ideal pairing. After surgery, patients enjoy the many benefits of this comprehensive approach to cosmetic breast rejuvenation, as it helps them look and feel like themselves again after weight loss, pregnancy, or the general effects of aging.

What Does a Breast Lift Involve?

Your surgical plan is customized to your needs and the extent of concerns you are experiencing, such as the degree of breast sagging and whether the nipples should be reduced in size. Dr. Parkins can provide the following types of breast lift procedures:

The Donut Lift

In this method, an incision is placed around the areola, so the resulting scar is naturally concealed in the pigmented sections of the skin. This technique is particularly useful for reducing the size of the areola if patients are concerned about this aspect of their breast appearance.

The Lollipop Lift

This approach to a breast lift is recommended for patients with moderate sagging. The incision is placed around the areola and then runs vertically downward, toward the natural breast crease, creating the appearance of a lollipop.

The Anchor Lift

Women with larger breasts and significant sagging can benefit from a breast lift that involves an “anchor” incision. This incision circles the areola, runs straight down in a vertical line, and then runs to the right and left in the breast crease.

Discover what goes into an 'anchor'-style breast lift at the Milwaukee area's Parkins Plastic Surgery.
Women whose large breasts have sagged significantly often benefit from the “anchor” method when choosing a breast lift with the Milwaukee area’s Dr. Maida Parkins. An incision is made around the nipple/areola, then extended down the center of the breast, and finally to the left and right, making an anchor shape. The nipple/areola is repositioned higher on the breast, excess skin and fat are removed, and the incision is closed. This results in a barely noticeable scar, with a single vertical line visible and the other lines hidden in the areola and breast crease.

It’s important to understand that, while scars and incisions seems intimidating, it’s best to pick a procedure based on what it can do for you, not where the scars will be placed. Minimal scarring techniques are not recommended in all cases, especially when the extent of loose skin is severe. The placement of implants may also require differing incisions. Ask Dr. Parkins what you can expect during your procedure to help minimize any anxiety about the treatment process.

If implants are being inserted, Dr. Parkins will place the implant first and then perform the breast lift in order to get the ideal placement.

What Are Breast Lift Surgery Recovery and Results Like?

Dr. Parkins provides medication after a breast lift, when you can expect a period of discomfort during the healing process. This discomfort does not last, however. After day three of recovery, patients often experience a significant boost in wellness and comfort.

As breasts heal and settle, they will drop into a natural position. Patients typically take one week off and can return to work sooner if they do not have a physically demanding job. Anyone considering a breast lift and augmentation should know that combining procedures is often chosen by patients because it is more efficient than having two separate surgeries that would each require time away from work or other daily responsibilities.

Breast lifts reposition the breasts so they look uplifted for many years to come. Future changes in skin elasticity are natural, and a breast lift will not prevent this process. However, your breasts will look much perkier as you get older—especially compared to their appearance if you did not have a surgical lift.

Dr. Parkins performs treatment to create the best possible results. If additional care is needed—including placing a tissue scaffold to prevent deformities, such as bottoming out—this can be discussed during your consultation. If you have other questions or concerns about aftercare and what to expect, be sure to contact Dr. Parkins and her team for assistance.

More Breast Surgery Options

In addition to breast lifts and augmentation with implants, Dr. Parkins performs fat grafting augmentation, which moves fat cells from one part of the body to the breasts for a modest increase.

Some women seeking a breast lift due to heavy breasts that constantly pull downward may also want to consider breast reduction. Nipple-areola reduction is also an option for women who want to reduce the size of their nipples or the dark-colored surrounding skin.

Because sagging breasts are a common result of pregnancy and breastfeeding, a breast lift is frequently an element of Mommy Makeover procedures, which involve a range of surgeries, treatments, and techniques to address the changes caused by pregnancy.
