What’s the First Step?

Since the Halo™ Laser is highly customizable to your specific needs, the first step for those around Madison and Milwaukee to receive treatment is to schedule a consultation. Dr. Parkins or one of our providers will evaluate your skin and concerns, such as sun damage, texture, discoloration, or early signs of aging. Your provider will determine whether Halo™ is the right option for your skin type and aesthetic goals and create a custom treatment plan tailored to your needs. You’ll also receive pre-treatment instructions, such as avoiding sun exposure and certain skincare products. Once you’re ready, your Halo™ session can typically be scheduled within a few days to weeks.

What to Expect on the Day of Sciton Halo™ Surgery

On the day of your Sciton Halo™ treatment just outside of Milwaukee, you’ll arrive with clean skin, free of makeup or lotions. A topical numbing cream is applied before the procedure to ensure your comfort throughout the session. Once the area is numb, your provider will use the Halo™ handpiece to precisely target the skin in a grid-like pattern, delivering a combination of deep and surface-level laser energy. Most treatments take about 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the size of the area being treated. You may feel a warm, prickling sensation during the procedure, but it’s generally well tolerated. Afterward, your skin may appear red or feel sunburned, which is normal and expected.

Recovery after Sciton Halo™ is relatively quick and manageable. Most patients experience redness, warmth, and mild swelling for the first 24 to 48 hours, followed by a bronzed or sandpaper-like texture as the skin begins to heal. This is part of the natural exfoliation process and typically resolves within five to seven days. You’ll be advised to avoid sun exposure, wear broad-spectrum sunscreen, and follow a gentle skincare routine to support healing. While results can start appearing within the first week, improvements in tone, texture, and radiance continue to develop over the following weeks as collagen production increases. Many patients enjoy a noticeable, long-lasting glow with just one treatment, though multiple sessions may be recommended for deeper concerns.
